Do you have any idea why I have no sound from the computer? The CDs don't play, and I have gotten several emails with sound oriented attachments that do not play. Could it be the new modem? Probably the speakers are not plugged in, a result of the computer having been pulled away from its usual place. Trace the speaker cable from the speakers back toward the computer. It ends in a mini-jack. If it's not plugged in or it's just loose, plug it back into the green socket on the back of the computer. If that doesn't work, then double-click the speaker icon in the System Tray at the lower right-hand corner of your screen. Your sound may be muted; if so, uncheck the "mute" box. If there's no speaker in the System Tray, then your sound drivers are not working properly. There may be an interrupt conflict or the drivers may be corrupted. This is a topic for a different discussion.
