Previewing your New
Domains by Landmark Web site

I have set up a Domains by Landmark hosting account and uploaded files, but have not yet specified the new name servers. I want to experiment with my Web site before going "live". Domains by Landmark gave me an IP address, but when I try to go to that address I don't see my Web site.

To preview your Web site using your temporary hosting IP (Internet Protocol) address, log into your Domains by Landmark Web account and follow these steps:

  1. Select "Web Hosting & Databases" from the "Hosting & Email" menu at the top of the page.
  2. Click on 'Settings'.
  3. The login name and IP address will be listed in the blue title bar, or under "Dedicated Hosting IP" if you have a dedicated IP.

You may then view your Web site with the following URL convention:

http://[IP]/[u]/[s]/[e]/[username]/html/ [Linux Web server]

http://[IP]/[username] [Windows Web server]

Where [IP] is the IP address of your Web server, [u] is the first letter of your username, [s] is the second and [e] is the third. [username] is your full FTP username. Here's an example, using the typical IP address 64.202.163.104 and the user name "landmark":

http://64.202.163.104/l/a/n/landmark/html/ [Linux Web server].

http://64.202.163.104/landmark [Windows Web server].

If you have difficulty with this, contact us for more specific instructions.
